Rainbow Rainbow

Just before sunset, Ysabel and I were at a rooftop garden when the lights of the skies went unusually orangish and then we saw a double arches of rainbow. No, not in the style of Macdonald's but more like the bigger one over the smaller one.

It was like a double portion of blessings. And we both made a wish. She refused to tell me what her wish was.

Patches Privilege

Recently, I was told by a veteran that the sleeve patches for a football jersey is only available for sale after a league season ends.

At first, I thought it did not make commercial sense. Perhaps I had wanted them too much. I suspected it was a case of inadequate inventory.

The only reason I could imagine was perhaps only the legitimate and privileged players of the season have access to these season marking badges.

Bummer.

The Kingsguard

In this recent game, I got really lucky with a less than regular but much stronger opponent. This is personally noteworthy because, with more than 250 points higher in ranking, I consider my opponent to be almost unbeatable.

In pushing his attack a little too far and probably gotten a little too eager to support his advances, my opponent found himself in a quick turn of the tide, Game-of-Thrones style. My king's knight eliminated the Queen, in a guardian role around my exposed king. I could not help but relate to "The Kingsguard", or Lord Commander role in GOT.

The rest of the game demanded determined moves from me to secure the iron throne of this checkered realm... OK OK, pardon my pre- occupation...
